Best shots from day three at US Open featuring Scheffler & Scott
Right folks, time to call it a night and prepare for what should be an epic US Open Sunday where plenty of players will arrive at Oakmont feeling they can go on to lift the trophy.
Sam Burns leads from JJ Spaun and Adam Scott, with Viktor Hovland the fourth and final player under par - but that's just a number this week, it's all about finishing ahead of the rest.
Carlos Ortiz, Tyrrell Hatton and even Robert MacIntyre and Cameron Young could all make a run from a few shots back, and we've seen all week how missing a fairway by a yard can cost you shots.
So no lead will be safe and there's bound to be drama - it's the US Open after all!
So make sure you us on Sunday for the conclusion of the 125th US Open.
Best shots from day three at US Open featuring Scheffler & Scott
So here we have it, Sam Burns leads the 125th US Open heading into the final round, but he's got contenders lining up behind him in a wide-open leaderboard really.
The 2013 Masters champion Adam Scott is the only major champion in the top 10 so maybe his experience will win the day?
JJ Spaun has played brilliantly, Viktor Hovland has a game in there that can get this job done and Carlos Ortiz hasn't done much wrong at all.
Sunday should be fun...
McIlroy +10 (74)
Watch: Frustrated McIlroy has 'earned the right to do whatever I want'
Here's that Rory McIlroy interview that everyone is talking about in full.
Scott -3 (67)
Adam Scott is challenging for his second major title in what incredibly is his 96th consecutive men's major championship appearance.
Only Jack Nicklaus has managed to make 100 major appearances in a row - with his eye-popping 146 consecutive appearances never likely to be beaten.
Scott's run started back at the Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes in 2001 - when today's playing partner Viktor Hovland was aged just three!
For context, Tiger Woods' best ever consecutive streak of majors was 46, while Phil Mickelson's best is 61 in a row.
The Australian would love to celebrate the landmark with a win!
Scott -3 (67)
At 44 years of age, Adam Scott could become the oldest US Open champion since Hale Irwin in 1990 if he can get the job done on Sunday.
He's not feeling the pressure though, as with a Masters title already in his pocket he sees challenging for a second major at his age is a bonus.
"It's all upsides," Scott told Sky Sports. "I'm lucky, I've won a major.
"I'd love to win the US Open though, and fortunately the confidence is up so I should look to take advantage of it."
Hovland -1 (70)
Viktor Hovland still isn't at ease with his game, as a few wild drives showed today, but he's "buzzing" to have the chance to win the US Open - if he can just solve that final piece of the puzzle in cutting out those bad swings.
"I'm really, really happy to have a chance to win a major championship," he told Sky Sports.
And on those bad drives: "I just have to figure that out, but at the end of the day, to have the chance to win tomorrow is just absolutely amazing.
"I'm buzzing for that but we've just got to keep grinding and hopefully we can get it done."
Burns -4 (69), Spaun -3 (69)
JJ Spaun's bunker shot lands 20 feet from the hole. The par putt is a foot or so short, so it'll be a closing bogey.
Sam Burns sends his monster birdie putt to within four feet. Make this and he'll lead overnight...
And he does.
Both players shoot one-under-par rounds, with Burns maintaining his one-shot lead over Spaun.
Burns -4, Spaun -4 (17)
Back down the 18th, JJ Spaun and Sam Burns have both gone right off the tee.
Spaun signs a glove for a spectator, so maybe his tee shot struck someone among the watching galleries? Smiles all round though, so I don't think anybody has been hurt.
Spaun sends his second into the greenside bunker, while Burns goes right to the back of the green.
Pars will be far from straightforward for the final group on the last.
Hovland -1, Scott -3 (F)
Solid finish for Adam Scott to a brilliant round that saw him card just one bogey, and that was on his very first hole of the day.
Four birdies have followed as he signs for a 67 that moves him to three under, which as of right now puts him in third place.
Hovland -1, Scott -3 (17)
Not to be for Viktor Hovland as the ball goes straight left off the blade and never stands a chance.
That's a level-par round of 70 for the Norwegian to finish where he started on one under - and he's in fourth place on the leaderboard.
Hovland -2, Scott -3 (17)
Adam Scott's approach is nowhere near as good as his drive - it's pin high but he just came out of it a bit and he's floated it off a good 50 feet or so wide right. He's on the green but it's a huge one and that'll be a testing two putt.
Viktor Hovland hoists a wedge high up and over the flag with his third with plenty of spin, too much spin as it turns out as the Oakmont greens are damp and receptive so it fizzes back 15 feet away.
Perez +4 (73), B Griffin +4 (74)
An up-and-down round for Ben Griffin ends with a bit of a golfing nightmare down the 18th for a double bogey.
Playing partner Victor Perez was three over for his round after eight holes but the Frenchman parred his way back home from there for a 73 to sit alongside Griffin at four over par for the tournament.
Hovland -2, Scott -3 (17)
Viktor Hovland turns away in disgust after slicing his drive off the 18th tee, resulting in his ball finding a deep fairway bunker and all he can do from there is chip it out and take his medicine.
Watch Adam Scott's majestic drive just before him won't have helped - the Aussie has one of the best swings in the game and he's just nailed a drive straight down the middle - like a frozen rope.
Burns -4, Spaun -4 (17)
Sam Burns' tee shot to the driveable par-four 17th lands short of the green but on the fairway.
And that is a dream of a pitch shot! Judges the spin perfectly, absolutely stone dead for a birdie.
That three-way tie for the lead lasted all of about five minutes.
Meanwhile, JJ Spaun has 15 feet for birdie... in it goes!
Hovland -2, Scott -3 (17)
Ha! Well, that wasn't Adam Scott's best out of the bunker but it was probably his best putt of the day as he drains that 14 footer for a birdie that sees him the leaders.
Oh and this is brilliant stuff now as Hovland follows Scott in to also make his three - that almost felt like a matchplay hole from the Ryder Cup that one the way they flip-flopped with the advantage.
Ultimately though it's two threes and both men are right up there.
Hovland -1, Scott -2 (16)
Awful tee shot on 17 from Viktor Hovland that almost ends up in the grandstands, instead it's the thick rough but he manages to get a great and send it high into the air land soft enough to grip and give him a nice birdie look.
Adam Scott is in the bunker again, a big one this one that must make him feel like he's on Bondi Beach again, but although he gets out it's not up to his usual standard as he's left 14 feet.
Burns -3, Spaun -3 (16)
Sam Burns and JJ Spaun both leave themselves one of those pesky five-footers for par. So regularly today, they've stood up to the test from that sort of range. Can they do so again?
Burns can't, his putt misses left. A first bogey since the second hole for the 28-year-old.
Spaun, who has mastered the art of the two-putt par today, finds the centre of the cup.
We have co-leaders again.
Lawrence E (17)
Thriston Lawrence is still in there fighting for this title you know, as he takes advantage of the short 17th with a nice tee shot and then approach that's not too far from going in as it settles three feet away.
The South African moves to level par and in a tie for fifth.
Hovland -1, Scott -2 (16)
Two greens hit here on 16 but no birdies as Viktor Hovland fails to convert and then Adam Scott comes mightily close to making a third birdie in four holes but his putt just loses steam and breaks away at the death.
The Australian is giving himself plenty of looks down the stretch though.
